Back to basics…While digital painting is entertaining, I feel exploring form with pencil on paper is so much more rewarding and educational. I have learned so much by allowing myself to draw freely by hand rather than digitally. In this set of drawings, I have tried a different approach to design. I allowed the blank page guide me into creating interesting silhouettes and added/subtracted shapes to balance each image. I feel much more productive in this process as there really are no expectations and the results are surprising. I don’t know if this means anything to the viewer. I think it is just something one must attempt.
